Myrtle Beach Shows - Alabama Theatre
When you think of the band Alabama, you think of country music, gospel songs, a splash of southern rock and of course, the Heart of Dixie herself. Myrtle Beach may not come to mind but the band has strong roots here. In 1973 everyone in the band decided to quit their day jobs and explore the club scene in different communities along the coast. They spent a summer as a backup band at a local nightclub, the Bowery, and became the bar's lead house band for seven more years.
The theatre opened in 1993 and accommodates more than 2000 guests. One: The Show is celebrating its 20 year anniversary. This is a family venue with comedians, dancers, singers and other vaudeville-style entertainment. This is one of those Myrtle Beach shows you can enjoy again and again because about half of the content is reworked, re-written and recast annually. The performance is always fresh, making it a family tradition for many Myrtle Beach vacationers.
Year after year, the Alabama Theater has been voted the #1 live attraction by Myrtle Beach visitors. The talented cast of performers come from all over the world and their coaches are flown in from areas like Las Vegas, Nashville and New York.
With our mild winters, December is a great time to come and see The South's Grandest Christmas Show. The Christmas lights are charming and the theatre is completely decked out in festive holiday decorations. This Myrtle Beach show will get the entire family into the spirit and magic of the season.
